Actor, Singer, Writer, Lighting Operator
Hello my name is Marcus Devon Robert McCleskey, I was born in the city of Fort Stewart, Georgia. My parents who were in the military at that time had split up and I ended up staying with my grandmother while my mom was station. When I was about five years old I got into theatre performance As a kid I would act out the characters on television. My grandmother had noticed my potential
I decided to take a theatre class in elementary, my very first play was "Peter Pan" and my role was one of the lost boys I played the character Nib.
In high school I started taking acting classes and audition for plays. I was cast in "Dracula" and played one of Dracula's minions. I also worked a production assistant and a set designer. while also during high school I took a music class for an elective and and music teacher notice my singing and recommend I sign up for the musical festive concert, I did and perform as an Tenor. I started writing my very first play as a freshman and reviewed it with my English teacher she was empress with my writing and recommend I take a writing class for theatre, so I did and it was then that I wanted to be a writer as well as an actor and soon a director. Because I ended up moving most of the time I hadn't really had the chance to get involved more in theatre world. After I graduated high school I took a break from Theatre due to my health condition with Crohn's disease. At that time It was hard for me to perform with this disease. But I didn't want to give up on my dream so I decided tp focused on my health first and did while doing that I was inspired by so many actors who have similar situation and they taught me to never give up. If you really want something especially something you're passionate about you have to go for it no matter what stands in your way. These actors managed to push it aside their struggles and succeeded in getting what they want. This had inspired me to continue to pursue acting and get more experience.
I then continued my education and went to Northeast Lake view community college and continue to take acting classes and get more experience. My second role in theater was playing Father Myopia in "Nun sense" I was also a lighting Tech, during the play I would used a ADJ Encore light on the other actors while also in character. Both plays have allowed me to develop new skills getting involved more involved with not only just the audience but behind the scenes as well. I'm now currently learning more about camera work and getting involved with how camera techniques are used in films. After graduated North East Lake-view I currently am working towards my BA degree for P&P at Texas State University working in film and Television shows while also working on my writer and directing skills. I also have a minor in business administration as this will help me understand the business side of acting. While at Texas State I'm beginning to direct a few scenes and plan to be more involved in plays at Texas State and local theatre.
